Weather is the day-to-day condition of a given place. It is not something we can control. To the contrary, the weather controls us. It determines where we live, how we dress, what we eat and what we do. Furthermore, it is not just people who are affected by weather, but also animals and the environment.

For Whims of Weather, we are inviting PWP members to submit images that express the drama of mother nature in her various temperaments. We are looking for photographs that are a little outside the ordinary, images that portray weather’s most violent outbursts as well as its more subtle moods.

The weather itself must be paramount. It must be the main character of your photograph. It can be rain or fog or gently falling snow…even sunshine that precedes or follows a sudden downpour. It can be a hurricane, a typhoon, an ice storm…or its aftermath. Your photograph can also depict people and animals but for this show, they must be either experiencing the weather event or simply be incidental to the main thrust of the photograph.
