Sculpting with Light
As photographers our reaction to the quality of light inspires us to reveal texture, create mood, and capture the infinite modulations of our subjects.
B/W Sculpting with Light will exhibit images that create an emotional impact and reveal the vast array of stunning variations in the black and white palette.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
ELIGIBILITY
Submission constitutes agreement to all terms of this Call for Entry. This exhibition is open to all PWP members in good standing who are paid up through to Saturday, December 21st.
ENTRY PROCEDURE
To begin your submission, go to: http://client.smarterentry.com/pwpopen. Use existing credentials or open an account and begin the submission process for B/W Sculpting with Light.
Image File Requirements: 8-bit JPG files - 72 ppi - 1280 pixels on the longest side
Frame Dimensions: The maximum frame length is 20” on the longer side
Artwork Title: Each image must have a unique title. Words such as “Untitled” and “No Title” are not acceptable. Shorter titles are preferable.
Filename: Filename with last name_first name_ followed by a number, as in the following example (eg. Smith_Jane_1.jpg)
Color Space: SRGB or RGB
Submission Fee: $40 for 6 images. Each additional image submitted is $7. Minimum submission is 3 images per photographer; there is no maximum.
Print Description: Film and digitally created images will be accepted. For this exhibition, traditional printing paper, metal and plexiglass prints can be submitted.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Ensure the information you provide is accurate. The information and sizing you submit in Smarter Entry will be final.
ACCEPTED WORK
Accepted Images: A notice will be sent out by Sunday, October 6th. Reply with your high and low res images no later than, Friday, October 11th.
Hi res: 300 ppi, 3000 pixels on the longest side.
Low res: 72 ppi, 1280 pixels on the longest side.
SELLING PRICE: Minimum price is $200. COMMISSION: 50%
DESCRIPTION AND DELIVERY OF ART WORK
FRAMING
Frame Dimensions: The maximum frame length is 20” on the longer side
Plexiglass is preferred within the frame but it is mandatory if you are shipping your work. We will only accept work that is sturdy and secure and presented professionally.
Wood or metal neutral frames only. Black or white mats and mounting boards must be archival/acid-free.
Hanging Hardware: Picture hanging wire must be attached to the back of all frames at least 3 inches below the top of the frame. No monofilament.
NOTE: INSURANCE for the artwork is the sole responsibility of the artist. Insurance is not provided by the Venue or by PWP. All works must remain in the exhibit for the duration of the show.
DELIVERY
Delivery of framed images will be on Sunday, December 8th, 8:30-11-30AM.
SHIPPING AND PICK-UP
Only members outside of New Yorkcan ship their work. Before you arrange shipping, contact pwpsureita@gmail.com for shipping instructions.
Pick up of work will be Saturday, December 21st – 2:30-5:00pm. Ifyou cannot pick up your work it is your responsibility to find someone to do it for you. Work not picked up at designated time will be subject to a $75 late pick-up fee. Work left after 30 days becomes the property of PWP.
