closePhotography has been a passion of mine for a long time. Of all the fine arts, it's the one that comes most naturally to me. It's more than a creative outlet, it's a form of self-expression. It just feels good to me - the whole process; shooting, editing, then making the print. As I walk through my day, I find beauty in the most unexpected places. I tend to look where others do not. I see what remains mostly unobserved. Then I lift the camera to my eye and compose an image. Through my lens, I seek the other angle, the microscopic village, the unseen drama play out once the shutter opens and light strikes the image sensor. The ordinary becomes extraordinary. I get to freeze time, capture a feeling, tell a story – and there is immense satisfaction when I feel I get it "right". For me, the work is a celebration of light, form, and most importantly - color! But one of my greatest joys has been people's response to my work. My goal is to encourage people to use their imagination. My images, especially those that are abstract, remain open to each viewer's interpretation, and emotion. They share how my photography makes them feel: happy, thoughtful, intrigued, and often…inspired. If by seeing just one of my images, others are moved to make their own art, or indulge whatever creative process they practice, well then, I’ve done my job.
