ARTIST’S STATEMENT As a multi-field creative, I approach photography as a completely different way to tell a story than writing. For me, writing is about editing, changing, rethinking. I like to experience photography as the opposite...catching the image, being in that moment and doing as little as possible afterwards to alter that initial experience. It’s a great balance...stretching a whole other set of creative muscles. BACKGROUND Family lore has it that with three generations of artists, there was no wall space left when I came along. Instead, I initially followed after my grandfather, acclaimed author and musician Konrad Bercovici, and aunt, writer and singer Rada Bercovici. A multi-field creative, I trained at NY’s Music and Art, Juilliard and Lee Strasberg. Fronted indie bands as lead singer/keyboard player/songwriter on MTV, rock radio and the club scene. And won multiple Best of Fest screenwriting awards at film festivals. Along with my husband, Rick, I am also currently recording as half of alternate dance/rock duo Theory of Tides. But, eventually, through photography, my visual heritage did come to the fore, becoming one more way for me to tell my stories.
