closeI’ve been shooting photographs for over 50 years. With maturity and my role as a mother I have been able to feel and understand the power of a moment. Street photography has helped me become a more compassionate observer. It has enabled me to set judgment aside in my moments of curiosity and understanding. Artistically, I have fallen in love with the way that light, wind, rain and other environmental elements affect my observations. They add mood, emotion and wonder to scenes that might normally be easy to overlook. The same is true with landscape photography. I am moved by the aforementioned details as well as by texture, angles, contrasting light and color, motion and so many innately felt qualities that produce a click of the shutter. When I carry my camera with me I always find it exciting and surprising when images call out to me and draw me in. I can walk past something that caught my eye for a split second, and then quickly go back to capture it. I love the comfort and freedom that I feel with my camera in hand. There is a voice in me that shouts, "yes!" when I am "lucky" enough to catch a moment that is rich with humanity, commonality and beauty. I am fortunate and thankful to have come to this place.
