6:00 - 6:30: Member and Guest Meet & Greet

A great chance for new members and guests to meet and chat with PWP Board members before the lecture.

6:30: Lecture by Matthew Jensen

Matthew Jensen Last year the Metropolitan Museum of Art explored ways that digital technologies are changing the way photographs are made in the exhibit titled After Photoshop: Photographic Manipulation in the Digital Age. The show featured, among others, a series titled The 49 States by photographer Matthew Jensen. The 49 image landscape series, which at first glance looks like vintage travel photographs, was created solely through the new universe of Google Street View. For the artist talk with PWP, Jensen will discuss this series, related works, and his thoughts on the current directions in the field.

The curtain raiser will be a slideshow from the 2014 Student Exhibition.

The lecture is free for PWP members, $10 for non-members (pay at the door). It is open to the public, and guests are welcome. It will take place on Wednesday, February 5th at 6:30 pm, at the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for new members, members and guests to meet PWP board members and get acquainted before the lecture. Contact for more information.
