Lynn Saville specializes in photographing cities at twilight. Her monographs include Acquainted with the Night, introduced by Joseph Rosa (Rizzoli); Night/Shift, introduced by Arthur C. Danto (Random House/Monacelli); Dark City, introduced by Geoff Dyer (Damiani), and New York, part of a boxed set entitled Lost, (KGP Kris Graves Projects). Two solo exhibitions of Saville's work were mounted in connection with Night/Shift, at the Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York and at Gallery Kayafas in Boston. And The New York Public Library invited Saville to engage in a public dialogue about Night/Shiftwith Arthur C. Danto. This year, Geoff Dyer incorporated his introduction to Dark City, "Lynn Saville, the Archeology of Overnight," in his recent book of essays on notable photographers, See/Saw.

Represented by the Yancey Richardson Gallery, Saville's work is in the art collections of corporations, individuals, and major museums. She has exhibited widely, in the U.S. and abroad, and among her many awards are fellowships from the NY Foundation for the Arts, the NYS Council for the Arts, and a Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Cityscapes. Her archive resides at the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Duke, which exhibited her photographs, along with those of Bill Gedney in a show titled "Night Vision."
