Day Trip to Winterthur Mansion, Museum and Gardens
May 3, 2014 8:00am-6:00pm
Registration Closed

Winterthur (pronounced “winter-tour”) is a magnificent 175-room house, once the home of the du Pont family.  Winterthur is the premier museum of American decorative arts, reflecting both early America and the du Pont family’s life here. Within the nearly 1,000 acre estate is a 60-acre naturalistic garden that is considered among the country’s best, and the house contains nearly 90,000 objects made or used in America from 1640 to 1860.

A special exhibition, The Costumes of Downton Abbey, will be available to PWP members at no additional cost.

This PWP trip - open to members and non-members - will depart by bus from East 86th Street at 8:00 AM, and return at approximately 6:00 PM.

The cost for the entire trip (exclusive of lunch) is $95 for PWP members and $115 for non-members.  The trip price includes round-trip transportation via comfortable chartered bus, admission to Winterthur, an hour and a half tour of the house and a tram tour of the gardens. There will be time to explore and walk the grounds on your own, and to visit the permanent exhibition galleries and the special exhibit of Costumes from Downton Abby.

Photography is allowed on the tour, in the exhibition galleries and on the grounds.

DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS IS APRIL 21st. Please note that all payments are final - no refunds will be issued unless the trip is canceled by PWP. If the trip is cancelled, full payment will be refunded.
