After two successful tours in Chelsea, we will move to NYC's Lower East Side gallery scene

Most of the leading galleries have been open for some time - under the same guidelines as other similar art & musuem institutions (vaccines, masks) - and many have had openings (well attended) for new exhibits.

TIME: Noon - 3 PM (Galleries open at Noon on Saturday)
LOCATION: NYC, Lower East Side
FEE: $45.00

Itinerary:
This tour will include six or seven galleries. There will be discussion at each gallery re: the art and the environment - Does it seems different - how is it different (real or perceived)
At some of the galleries, the director will be available to talk about the work on exhibit.

TOUR LEADERS
Claudia Sohrens is a multi-disciplinary artist from Germany. Her work is featured in private collections and has been presented in numerous group and solo exhibitions nationally and internationally. As an independent curator, she produced projects like the"Pop-Up Archive" at Mana, the “Performing Archive” at A.I.R, the Foto/Pod "What is a photograph?" at Photoville and Dumbo Arts Festival, “Ulrike ist Schuld” at the German Embassy in New York, and her ongoing Virtual Art Walks series.

Sohrens is a teaching artist for photography and youth media programs with Artists Space, BRIC Arts & Media, as well as the Summer programs at Sotheby's Art Institute and The School of The New York Times. She is currently visiting faculty at Pratt Institute, Cooper Union, International Center for Photography and Penumbra Foundation.

Fellowships awarded to her include the 2018 VSC residency, the 2017 ICP Artist Residency, 2014-15 A.I.R. Fellowship, the 2010 NYFA Fellowship for Photography, and the AIM23 Artist Residency at the Bronx Museum. She regularly reviews photography portfolios for LensCulture and has served as a juror on many visual arts and photography panels, including the Brooklyn Arts Council, Vermont Studio Center, NYC4PA and NYFA. Her long-term photographic research project 'Mise En Abyme: Archive', has fiscal sponsorship through Artspire/NYFA, where she is a mentor for Immigrant Artists
