The March member meeting features Hikmatullah Kharoti, an award-winning photographer, still and motion designer from Afghanistan. An Artist Protection Fund Fellow resident at the University of Delaware and the Delaware Contemporary, his motion work has appeared on Afghan national television and has been presented to President Ashraf Ghani. He was awarded a creative employee award by the Governor of The Central Bank of Afghanistan, the winner in the street photography category for Rumi Magazine, was shortlisted for the prize in photography by the World Mythologist Organization, and won a book cover design contest for White Saviorism in International Development. His current interest is in portraits that have hidden stories behind their smile with the goal to make “a place where everybody becomes someone".
