About
Originally from White Plains, NY, I trained in Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell, had a career leading projects for corporate interior and architectural clients, and am now a full-time photographer. I’ve studied photography at the International Center for Photography and the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, and am a student of NY photographer Carol Dragon. In addition to Professional Women Photographers (PWP), I’m a member of American Photographic Artists (APA) and Studio Montclair in New Jersey. My work includes abstract composition, cityscapes, B & W, and alternative photography, including photograms.
Artist statement:
When I see light illuminating a building or a stairway, sneaking in from the side, articulating the texture of a wall or highlighting a detail, I want to reach out and touch it. By capturing the movement of light and making it tangible, I seek to preserve the instant of visual delight. I am pulled in by the imprint of the human species, the interaction of the buildings around us with nature, and the artistic process – these things attract me. I’m passionate about the built environment and its inhabitants, expressed in color, pattern, light and shadow.
