About
I’m drawn to energy, drama and humor. My specialty is documenting theatrical productions, but I can find those qualities in many contexts; serene and frenetic, subtle and obvious, moving and still. Looking for them brings me hope and joy in a world that often seems so heavy. I hope my work does the same for its viewers.
My father was a photographer, as was my grandfather. I grew up with a darkroom in the basement and still remember the smell of the solutions. As a teen, I went through a period of rebellion (I wish I had taken more pictures in college…). When I had kids, my photography genes came roaring back. Fast forward to 2014, I had a brain hemorrhage. Photography was instrumental in my recovery. My previous career was no longer an option due to cognitive issues. So, I created Spotlights Photography and here I am. In addition to theater, I do headshots, portraits and shoot galas and other events. SpotlightsPhotography.com
