Heather Crowder is a contemporary portrait photographer who has been authentically capturing her subjects for nearly two decades. In 2008, she revolutionized school photography by introducing her “Modern School Pictures” style, bringing the fresh, relaxed perspective of her family portraiture, to school settings.

Based in Annapolis, MD, Heather owns and operates two studios – The Lightbox Studio and The Lightbox Loft. The studios (and on-location mobile set-up) specialize in headshots for individuals and corporate teams and groups to deliver consistency, exceptional quality, and a GREAT client experience through carefully developed systems.

A sought-after educator, Heather has presented many times at major photography conferences including WPPI, Imaging USA, SYNC and more, and has been featured on several industry podcasts. Her “business first” approach coupled with the same authenticity she brings to portraiture, makes her well-known as an ‘open book’ speaker.

When she’s not behind the camera, Heather and her husband can be found cheering on their two daughters (on stages & athletic fields) and hitting the ski slopes.
