Claudia Sohrens lectures and demonstrates Lightroom software and how it integrates with Photoshop. She can answer questions on how Lightroom compares to IView and other leading programs.
Lightroom has potential for many photographers. For those who are not using Photoshop, this may be the best solution for opening all images (including Camera Raw) and doing basic corrections. For those coming home with large amounts of images (events, stock, travel, reunions and more) this will simplify your life.
Lightroom has been designed to streamline digital workflow for photographers using digital cameras, to sort, catalog, manage as well as for correct, present and print large collections of digital images. Lightroom breaks with a number of the Photoshop and Camera Raw paradigms, providing photographers with new, powerful tools for processing especially large amounts of images and RAW files for clients and publications. Think of Lightroom more as a new home base for your digital photography collection. You'll still need Photoshop-but maybe not as often.
