THE SECRET GARDEN
A JURIED EXHIBIT FOR PWP MEMBERS ONLY
June 4 - August 7, 2005
We have been offered a unique and wonderful exhibition opportunity
by Jill Conley, curator at the Steinhardt Conservatory Gallery at the
Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The exhibit will be open only to members in
good standing of Professional Women Photographers.
THE SECRET GARDEN will examine a variety of intimate and personal
garden subjects, including botanicals, insects and birds, in close-up
and medium shots. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden would like us to be
aware that the exhibit will open in conjunction with "June is Rose
Month,"
and many rose fanciers will be strolling through the galleries.
Images can be abstract, but should NOT include people, animals,
landscapes, buildings, trees, wide shots of gardens. Images that
include these elements will be eliminated from the jury process. These
parameters were given to us by the Botanic Garden and there will be
no exceptions. Final decisions as to images accepted will rest with
the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
It is possible that more than one of an individual photographer's
images will be accepted. If this is the case, the images must work
in a complementary or artistic manner, as in a series. In choosing
your slides, take into consideration format, size and framing. A
cohesive presentation will be very important.
For this reason, up to 8 slide images may be entered. This is a
wonderful opportunity for members who specialize in botanical
subjects.
