Given our divisive times of differing truths, realities and opportunities, my work intentionally captures and celebrates the overlooked as close to the original as possible. Through Pareidolia, Greek for “false images” like a face in the moon, my found art photographs reveal a different way of seeing what we walk past and step on. They trigger a second deeper look at streets and trees, our natural and artificial worlds, disrupting our confirmation bias. I celebrate the overlooked by: not altering the subject or manipulating the photo; identifying key neglected Elements, like asphalt or bark; and using archival master printing techniques, helping to make the ordinary and quotidian more extraordinary. By opening our eyes and minds to seeing differently, we can suspend prejudgement and shift habitual perspectives.
