Photos by Sheri Lynn Behr were displayed on 10/18 at a wine and art party to benefit the Liberty Humane Society at River Pet in Edgewater, NJ. == Three of Miriam Berkley‘s photographs of boxers were shown the weekend of 9/26-27 at Gleason’s Gym in DUMBO (Brooklyn), as part of the 13th annual Art Under the Bridge Festival. == Amy Burchenal sold her hand-painted silver prints, books, and black and white silver prints at the Brooklyn Flea’s “Gifted Holiday Market” from 12/2-6 in Manhattan. == On 12/18, Marilyn Fish-Glynn and Alyce Mayo participated in a book-signing party for 100 New York Photographers, at Soho Photo, NYC. Several former PWP members/speakers such as Arlene Gottfried, Cynthia Matthews, Erika Stone, Dee Ann McCarthy and Rebecca Lepkoff were present, along with the book’s author. == Leslie Granda-Hill has an on-going project photographing veterans, and several images of one of these men was featured on Fox News on 9/11 in a story about people and pets. Also, Leslie was accepted to the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop XXII 2009. == Birgit Pohl recently sold two Polaroid transfers to a collector in Westchester. == Daryl-Ann Saunders is creating a photo studio that PWP members can rent for their own 4-6 hour photo sessions at a modest fee. Brick-walled, the studio is 13′ x 25′, with an adjacent bathroom/makeup area, and it’s located twenty minutes from Manhattan in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Danto about her new book, Night/Shift, at the New York Public Library, and on 10/22, Lynn presented her work, followed by a book-signing, at the School of Visual Arts Amphitheatre, NYC. Also, Lynn taught “New York at Twilight,” a five-session workshop at International Center of Photography, NYC from 9/29-10/27. == On 11/2, the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American Art accepted all of the photos from Nancy Sirkis‘ project about small towns, as well as her five boroughs project. This includes images that Nancy already submitted, and photos that she will take in the future.

Twenty-one informal portraits by Monica Barnes were published in the 2008 Bulletin: A Directory and Chronicle of The Society of Woman Geographers. Monica’s obituary of pioneering air photographer Mary Meader also appears in the same issue. Also, a two-page article about Ann was in the Spring issue of Fine Arts Magazine. “Ann Brandeis: Shaking the Dust off Artistic Limitations,” discusses her work in depth, and showcases six of her images. The magazine is sent to national and international galleries, is available by subscription, and can be purchased in many bookstores. == An article by Elisa Decker, in which she reviews paintings by Anne Neely, was published in the September edition of Art of America. See pages 150-151. == A two-page spread about Marilyn Fish-Glynn is featured in 100 New York Photographers, by Cynthia Dantzic, recently published by Schiffer. Marilyn was honored by the invitation to participate in this book, which includes many iconic figures, spanning over fifty years of work. Also included is a 1937 photograph by Rebecca Lepkoff.
