Professional Women Photographers is very pleased to announce the winners for its Third Annual Student Awards program, established for young women enrolled in a New York City high school, with a talent in and enthusiasm for photography. This year there were two categories for submissions, 9^th and 10^th grades, and 11^th and 12^th grades.

The two $1000 first prizes went to Jeanette Anderson of the Leon M. Goldstein HS in Brooklyn for 11^th and 12^th grade division and Alexandra Tesnakis of Michael Petrides HS in Staten Island for 9^th and 10^th grade division. These prizes were made possible by a generous donation from Hunton & Williams, LLP.

The two second place winners received $500 each and were awarded to Beatriz Borrios of Abraham Lincoln HS in Brooklyn and Andrea Cella of Michael Petrides HS in Staten Island. These prizes were made possible in part by a donation from Fujifilm USA.

The two third prizes were awarded to Jennifer Feshenko of Abraham Lincoln HS in Brooklyn and Kimberly Socci of Michael Petrides HS in Staten Island. These awards were made possible by a generous donation from Catherine and David Steinmann.

An honorable mention was given to Michelle deLorenzo of Franklin Delano Roosevelt HS in Brooklyn.

All award recipients also received a tripod kit courtesy of Bogen Imaging.

The winners were given their awards at a reception on March 26 at 202East. Approximately 85 people attended, including parents, families, friends and teachers of the students.

The submissions were juried by a panel composed of Thomas Werner, owner of the Thomas Werner Gallery in Chelsea, Ann Chwatsky, of NYU Department of Education, and Karen Haberberg, Director of Photography at the JCC Manhattan.
